Receiver equipment is generally designed for a certain nominal voltage and with defined variations in the quality of the supply. Within these margins, its operation is normal, although in most cases energy consumption increases sharply with over-voltage. Lighting systems that integrate discharge lamps associated with series-type ballasts (High Pressure Sodium Vapour “VSAP”, Mercury Vapour “VM”, etc.), are very susceptible to variations in their supply voltage. Voltages higher than 105% of the nominal value for which they were designed, greatly reducing the life of the lamps and equipment, accompanied by a large increase in unnecessary electrical energy consumption.

Voltage stabilizer – Flow reducer at the head of the line: Its development, designed to supply a stabilized voltage to the lamps and reduce their power from the control center, managing to solve lighting problems caused by defects in the electrical distribution networks, while also achieving significant savings in energy consumption. Currently, ERELUZ equipment guarantees a fixed and stable power supply with a tolerance of +/-1.5%.

The reduction in consumption provided by ERELUZ equipment is achieved in its two basic functions, stabilization of the mains voltage and by reducing the supply voltage in the lighting line, programmed externally, achieving a saving of 55% of consumption with VSAP equipment and 40% in VM.

ERELUZ equipment, from the first of its designs, allows reducing energy consumption by decreasing the lighting level during hours of less traffic. Currently, this voltage variation is carried out at a speed of 5 volts per minute, with small voltage steps, which guarantee the stability of the lamp arc and the adaptation of the user to the new lighting levels, as the variations are imperceptible.
